Free monthly memory screenings to begin Nov. 18 in Wayne
Wyckoff, NJ (November 3, 2026) — Christian Health’s Home Care Options has been certified as an official Memory Screening Site by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA). Through its partnership with AFA, Home Care Options will offer free confidential screenings and educational resources to help participants learn about cognitive health and possible next steps.
The screenings use questions and brief tests to provide an initial snapshot of cognitive health designed to help participants decide whether to discuss their results with a health care provider. They will be held monthly at the Home Care Options office at 2000 Siena Village in Wayne, and conducted by Alaina Tarasiewicz, Director of Nursing for Home Care Options.
Each screening takes about 15 minutes. Participants will review their results with the screener and receive a copy to share with their health care provider. A screening is not a diagnosis and does not replace an evaluation by a health care provider.
“A memory screening can be a helpful first step for someone with questions about changes they’ve noticed. It can open a conversation with a health care provider and help people learn about possible next steps,” said Tarasiewicz. “We’re pleased to offer this free resource to people throughout the community, making it easier to start informed conversations about their cognitive health.”
The first screening session is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The session is open to the public, with 10 appointments available. To reserve an appointment or ask a question, contact Alaina Tarasiewicz at ATarasiewicz@HomeCareOptions.com or (201) 897-5550.
Christian Health offers memory care services at several of its communities: Courtyard at Longview provides memory care assisted living; Heritage Manor provides long-term skilled nursing care, including memory care; Mountain View at Windmere offers memory and skilled nursing care; and Southgate Special Care provides care for adults with special care needs related to dementia, schizophrenia, or other mood disorders.
