Christian Health Unveils New Patio for Gracepoint Clients

Christian Health Unveils New Patio for Gracepoint Clients

Wyckoff, NJ (October 29, 2026) — At a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning, Christian Health unveiled a new patio for Gracepoint, its partial-hospitalization and intensive outpatient program. The Bolger Foundation supported the project through a $75,000 challenge grant, matching funds raised by the Christian Health Foundation.

The patio offers Gracepoint clients a quiet outdoor space to pause and find comfort while participating in programs. A voluntary, group-based treatment center for adults 18 and older experiencing mental health challenges, Gracepoint provides structured outpatient care in a supportive setting, at an intermediate level between traditional outpatient therapy and inpatient treatment.

“Having access to a peaceful outdoor space gives clients an opportunity to enjoy fresh air and take a restorative break during a full day of treatment and therapeutic activities. We hope the patio will also give families and our team members a comfortable place to connect and support those in our care,” said Christian Health President and CEO Stephen J. Dumke, LNHA, FACHE. “We’re grateful to The Bolger Foundation for its longstanding partnership and for helping make projects like this possible. Their support has enhanced our facilities and strengthened the care experience for so many people across Christian Health.”

The Bolger Foundation has supported Christian Health through grants for the Bolger Gym and Wellness Center, which provides rehabilitation services, and for the organization’s mental health programs. In 2021, a $2 million challenge grant supported renovations to Southgate Special Care, a healing, therapeutic community that provides compassionate care for adults with special care needs caused by behavioral disturbances associated with dementia, schizophrenia, or other mood disorders. The foundation has donated more than $5.9 million to Christian Health over more than 20 years.

“The Bolger Foundation is proud of its long relationship with Christian Health,” said J.T. Bolger, President of The Bolger Foundation. “We recognize the value that welcoming outdoor spaces can have for people receiving mental health care. We’re glad to help create a place where Gracepoint clients can spend time outside as they work toward wellness.”

Event attendees included J.T. Bolger; Dumke; Wyckoff Township Mayor Roger Lane; Wyckoff Township Committeeman Rudy Boonstra; Wyckoff Administrator Matt Cavallo; Wyckoff Township Committeeman Peter Melchionne; Wyckoff Police Lt. Joe Soto of the Wyckoff Police; Wyckoff Police Lt. Kevin Kasak; Christian Health CEO Emeritus Doug Struyk; Christian Health Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Amy Shotmeyer Porter; Alexis Totaro, Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive of Mental Health Services at Christian Health; Susan Kelly, Vice President of Development and Foundation at Christian Health; Ellsworth Whiteman, Chair of the Christian Health Foundation Board; and Tom Dykhouse, Chair of the Christian Health Board of Trustees.

Christian Health offers a comprehensive continuum of person-centered inpatient, outpatient, and home-based mental health services designed to adapt to each person’s needs and support better outcomes and long-term stability. At the core is Ramapo Ridge, a 58-bed behavioral health hospital accredited by The Joint Commission, where adult and geriatric psychiatric services include diagnosis and individualized treatment for complex conditions such as dementia. Its specialized programs include Haven, New Jersey’s first and only inpatient women’s trauma program, and Harbor, which provides older adults with dementia-capable, restraint-free inpatient care and geriatric-specific de-escalation. Beyond inpatient care, LiveWell Counseling and Gracepoint’s Partial-Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs are designed to help patients build stability and return to daily life.
