Stephen Dumke, President and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Health,
is a visionary leader dedicated to advancing the organization’s
mission and driving strategic initiatives that expand access, advance
excellence, and strengthen stewardship across a full continuum of behavioral
health and senior care services in Northern New Jersey. Working closely
with the Christian Health Board of Trustees and senior leadership team,
Mr. Dumke ensures the 115-year-old organization remains well positioned
for continued growth, innovation, and long-term vitality. In 2026, he
was appointed by Governor Mikie Sherrill to New Jersey’s Alzheimer’s
and Dementia Care Long-Term Advisory Commission, reflecting both his leadership
and Christian Health’s expertise in senior care.
Mr. Dumke joined Christian Health in January 2016 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing a continuum of senior living, short-term rehabilitation, and behavioral health services, including skilled nursing, assisted living, pre-assisted living, and independent living communities. He was later promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer and has driven strategic growth while maintaining operational excellence throughout the organization, with a focus on expanding access to care, enhancing quality and experience across settings, and positioning the organization for long-term sustainability as it continues to grow.
Before joining Christian Health, Mr. Dumke served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Lutheran Homes Society, an Ohio-based nonprofit Christian ministry offering senior living, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and youth mental health services.
Active in professional associations, Mr. Dumke serves on the New Jersey Hospital Association board and has served on multiple NJHA committees and councils. He also previously served as Chair of the LeadingAge New Jersey and Delaware board. He is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Mr. Dumke holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toledo. He also earned advanced healthcare leadership certificates from Seton Hall University and Cornell University.
Mr. Dumke enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessica, and their three children: Anna, Elisa, and Evan. Passionate about serving others, he is an active member of his church’s board of directors and supports the well-being of his community. He also enjoys being a proud cheerleader for his children’s activities, as well as traveling, reading, and pursuing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth.
