Life Care at The Vista

A move to The Vista is a move to an extraordinary community with an abundance of amenities and a maintenance-free lifestyle for active adults 62 and older. Here, at New Jersey’s newest Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) breaking ground very soon on Christian Health’s (CHCC) Wyckoff/Hawthorne campus, residents will enjoy ample events, programs, services, and exquisite cuisine to nurture their mind, body, and spirit.

A move to The Vista is also a move to a lifelong security net for finances, health care, and maintaining control of your future.

“The security net is called Life Care, and it’s one of the unique benefits offered at The Vista,” says Cate Borgman, Vista Residency Counselor.

A CCRC is an all-inclusive tiered approach to living. As such, The Vista offers residents access to CHCC’s higher levels of care, such as assisted living, memory-support, and skilled nursing.

“You can move seamlessly between different levels of care based on your needs,” Ms. Borgman says. “Your spouse and your Vista friends will all be within the same campus to support you through any transitions.”

Two contracts are available.

One is a Fee-for-Service contract. Under this plan, Vista residents have priority access to CHCC’s assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing, and short-term rehab, and receive a 10-percent discount at the current rate at the time.

The second option is a Life Care Contract. Through this plan, individuals will pay the same monthly fee for assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing that they are paying monthly at The Vista at the time of transition. The only extra charges will be for additional meals and ancillary services. Through this guarantee of below-market-rate costs, Life Care can represent significant savings.

“The Life Care contract option is a wise investment in security, peace of mind, health, and wellness,” Ms. Borgman says. “With predictable monthly fees, you enjoy financial security, protection from rising health-care and long-term care costs, preservation of financial assets, and potential tax advantages.”

Vista residents selecting the Life Care Contract pay a one-time Life Care entry fee and a monthly Life Care fee. Until December 31, 2018, individuals who become members of The Vista Vantage Club will receive significant savings for both the Life Care Contract and entry fee. Vantage Club members receive additional benefits, including the best pre-construction pricing, priority selection of their new apartment home, one free upgrade selection, and the opportunity to choose their underground parking space.

For Vista residents who have long-term care insurance, the Life Care Contract is a coordinating benefit. The long-term care allowance is deducted from the monthly long-term care or assisted-living fee, which can represent a substantial savings.

To put it concisely, individuals who choose The Vista’s Life Care Contract option are creating a lifetime plan.

“They have peace of mind knowing where their care will be provided in case they can no longer live independently, and how much that care will cost,” Ms. Borgman says. “In a manner of speaking, they’ve taken the mystery out of their future.”
