Speech Therapy

Speech therapy can assist not only with speech and language skills, but also with oral motor abilities. It can help improve your ability to communicate effectively or to eat safely. People often receive speech therapy to counter the effects of a stroke, head injury, dementia, or even some of the natural effects of aging.

Speech therapy may include:

  • Evaluation for swallowing problems,
  • Diet recommendations,
  • Treatment for loss of swallowing and/or speech function, and
  • Cognitive-linguistic management.
