Many nurses describe the aspiration to care for others professionally as a calling – a deep-seated desire to advocate for others and make a positive impact through the provision of compassionate, quality care.
At Christian Health, we believe in always treating our patients and residents with empathy and kindness – by always offering a listening ear, comforting words, and individualized attention. Our nursing team members do so much more than provide clinical care – they nurture, support, and make a daily difference in the lives of all those we serve.
If you have considered a career in nursing, we’d love to welcome you to our team.
The Difference at Christian Health
- Collaborative Environment: We are committed to providing patient-centered care through seamless collaboration – patients and residents receive personalized care from an interdisciplinary team of nurses, doctors, rehab therapists, dietitians, and other health care professionals. This teamwork approach effectively improves outcomes, ensures continuity of care, and enhances the patient experience.
- People-Centered Culture: As a member of our team, you’ll enjoy a supportive culture that emphasizes the undeniable importance of every employee. We encourage a healthy work-life balance and foster a friendly, close-knit working environment. When you work at Christian Health, a huge part of your job is cultivating meaningful bonds with not only those you serve but also the team members you serve alongside.
- Holistic Approach: In our communities, we focus on a holistic approach – while many hospitals and health care settings only tend to physical needs, we foster wellness for the mind, body, and spirit. We are dedicated to providing compassionate care in a warm, homelike environment and consistently going the extra mile for our patients and residents.
- Diverse Career Opportunities: We offer many professional opportunities across multiple disciplines and unique working environments. If you are a driven, career-motivated individual, there are endless ways for you to broaden your knowledge, increase your skills, and gain valuable and diverse professional experience.
Nursing Career Opportunities
At Christian Health, our nurses and nursing assistants play a vital part in caring for our patients and residents across our many care communities, including long-term care, assisted living, rehabilitation, and our mental health hospital. We offer opportunities for many types of nurses and caregivers, with each one fulfilling a unique role on the care team.
- Registered Nurses (RNs): Our registered nurses, who may have either an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing to join our team, are responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, administering medications and treatments, and coordinating with our physicians and other caregiving professionals. They also supervise both LPNs and CNAs, ensuring that every member of the team is working toward the same goal: providing safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs): LPNs serve as a bridge between our CNAs and RNs, often supervising nursing assistants and helping implement the care plans developed by registered nurses or doctors. LPNs are qualified to provide more direct medical care – they can administer certain medications, perform wound care, take vital signs, and assist with some medical procedures. Their role is both clinical and supportive, requiring a solid foundation in nursing skills and patient care.
- Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs): CNAs are often the first line of contact for our patients and residents – their primary focus is helping with basic daily needs, like bathing, dressing, eating, and moving around, as well as ensuring they are comfortable throughout the day. Although CNAs don’t perform medical procedures, they monitor vital signs and report any changes in a patient’s condition to other nursing team members. It’s a great entry point into the nursing field and offers meaningful, hands-on patient care experience.
- Resident Assistants (RAs): As a resident assistant, you will support the CNAs and assist residents and patients with daily, non-nursing care needs. As part of this great opportunity, you will then become CNA-certified and transition to a CNA role after attending our free 90-hour on-campus training course and passing an exam.
Other essential caregiving positions available across our communities and services include certified home health aides, certified medication aides, and personal care assistants.
