Christian Health, The Bolger Foundation Partner on Project Promoting Mental Health and Wellness

WYCKOFF, NJ (November 11, 2025) – Christian Health broke ground yesterday on a patio renovation outside of its Gracepoint Partial-Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. The project will be supported by a $75,000 challenge grant from The Bolger Foundation, a longtime benefactor of Christian Health and like-minded nonprofits committed to health care, community development, education, and other social causes.

Expected to be completed by year’s end, with further landscaping improvements scheduled for spring 2026, the patio will offer clients a tranquil space to relax and find comfort at Gracepoint, a voluntary, group-focused treatment center for adults 18 and older navigating mental health challenges. The program provides structured outpatient services as an intermediate level of care between traditional outpatient therapy and inpatient treatment, in a supportive environment.

“The impact that The Bolger Foundation continues to have on the lives of those in our community is truly profound,” said Christian Health President and CEO Steve Dumke. “We have been so blessed to have the enduring support of David F. Bolger and his family over many decades. Their generosity has enabled us to enhance our communities and services, ensuring that every person we serve benefits from exceptional care in a positive and comfortable environment. We are deeply thankful for their remarkable commitment to our mission.”

Event attendees included J.T. Bolger, President, The Bolger Foundation; Wyckoff Township Mayor Rudy Boonstra; Wyckoff Township Committeeman Roger Lane; Wyckoff Township Administrator Matt Cavallo; Dumke; Ellsworth Whiteman, Chair of the Christian Health Foundation Board; Tom Dykhouse, Chair of the Christian Health Board of Trustees; Alexis Totaro, Christian Health’s Vice President of Operations, Behavioral Health Services & Administrator/Chief Nurse Executive; and Sue Kelly, Director of the Christian Health Foundation.

The Bolger Foundation offered the Christian Health Foundation the challenge grant opportunity last fall, agreeing to match up to $75,000. This challenge grant was achieved and this project is fully funded through philanthropy. The Bolger Foundation previously provided and funded a challenge grant of $2 million to Christian Health in 2021, which was used for the complete renovation of the Ramapo Ridge Behavioral Health and Southgate Special Care communities, including residents’ rooms, nurses' stations, dining areas, and other common spaces. In total, the Bolger Foundation has donated more than $5.9 million to Christian Health over the last 20+ years.

“The Bolger Foundation is proud to have a long affiliation with Christian Health. We have proudly supported the rehabilitation program, renovation of the Bolger Gym and Wellness Center, and mental health programs,” said J.T. Bolger, President of The Bolger Foundation. “The Foundation recognizes the benefits of exterior spaces to help those dealing with mental health issues and is proud to be part of creating this outdoor space to aid those in need along their path to wellness.”
