Christian Health Breaks Fundraising Record at 2025 Spring Gala and Honors CEO Emeritus Douglas A. Struyk

Hundreds turned out on April 24, raising more than $600K for the Wyckoff-based nonprofit while celebrating Struyk’s legacy as a pioneer in New Jersey healthcare.

Christian Health’s 2025 Spring Gala was a night to remember, organizers announced. The organization honored CEO Emeritus Douglas A. Struyk, CPA, LNHA, and raised a record-breaking $600,000.

“I am deeply humbled by the outpouring of love and support from my family, community, and cherished Christian Health team,” said Struyk, who retired as CEO last December after 34 years of service. “I give thanks to God for all that we have accomplished together for those we serve over the years. I have the utmost confidence in Steve and our team to continue delivering high-quality care for our residents, patients, and clients.”

To commemorate Struyk’s decades of leadership, board Chair Tom Dykhouse announced that The Vista Performing Arts Center on Christian Health’s Wyckoff campus will be renamed the Struyk Performing Arts Center in Struyk’s honor.

“Doug has been a visionary and trailblazer for Christian Health, spearheading strategic growth in our services while remaining steadfast to our core mission and values,” said Board Chair Tom Dykhouse. “I know I speak for the entire board when I say how fortunate we are to have a leader of Steve’s caliber take the torch from Doug and guide Christian Health into the future. We’re confident Steve will uphold Doug’s remarkable legacy while making his own distinct and lasting impact.”

The event had over thirty sponsors, including Signature Honoree Sponsor Atlantic, Tomorrow's Office, and 2025 Premier Events Sponsor Columbia Bank. Proceeds will directly support the continuum of high-quality care and programs the Wyckoff-based non-profit offers.

“Our supporters are the very heart of Christian Health, and I am deeply grateful for their generosity,” said CEO Stephen J. Dumke, LNHA, FACHE. “This year’s gala was especially meaningful as we honored Doug’s legacy and reaffirmed our commitment to the mission that generations of Christian Health leaders have built in service to our community.”
