Two Christian Health Communities Again Named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes List

WYCKOFF, NJ (December 11, 2025) – For the third consecutive year, two Christian Health communities have been named among the best nursing homes nationwide by U.S. News & World Report, a leading publisher of independent news and rankings. This year’s ranking is based on an annual assessment of nearly 15,000 facilities across the U.S.

The 2026 Best Nursing Homes list recognizes 2,700 communities nationwide that demonstrate exceptional performance in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, or both. Christian Health’s Bolger Short-Term Rehabilitation and Heritage Manor once again earned top distinctions in their respective categories, reinforcing their reputation for delivering exceptional services. Together, the two communities offer a seamless continuum of person-centered care, spanning from advanced short-term rehabilitation to comprehensive long-term support, rooted in shared values, clinical expertise, and a steadfast commitment to enhancing residents’ lives.

“This national recognition underscores the power of our mission to promote health, healing, and wellness for people of all ages in a compassionate environment rooted in our Christian values,” said Andrew Van Orden, Vice President of Operations for Life Plan & Long-Term Care Services/Administrator of Windmere. “Here on our beautiful suburban campus, both Bolger Short-Term Rehabilitation and Heritage Manor continue to shine among the nation’s best – an achievement made possible by the exceptional expertise and unwavering dedication our team brings to every resident, every day. We are deeply committed to raising the standard of care and enriching the well-being of all who place their trust in us.”

All data used in the 2026 U.S. News Best Nursing Home ratings came from publicly available sources, including the CMS Nursing Homes Data Archive. The evaluation assessed 17 quality measures related to nurse staffing, patient outcomes, and turnover of ownership and staff, selected through a combination of literature reviews, expert input, and statistical modeling. Both short-term rehab and long-term care ratings also considered the care provided to residents who spent more than 100 days in a nursing home.

Key findings from 2026 Best Nursing Homes ratings include:

  • U.S. News Best Nursing Homes provide 20% more total staffing per resident per day compared to the national average.
  • Top-performing skilled nursing facilities offer 80% more physical therapy per resident per day than the national average.
  • Leading long-term care communities have 15% fewer hospitalizations compared to the national average.
  • Rehab patients at the highest-performing skilled nursing facilities have a 33% lower rate of emergency room visits.

“Year after year, national results affirm what our communities already know: exceptional outcomes start with exceptional people,” said Van Orden. “At a time when many providers are struggling with staffing challenges, our consistently low turnover rates ensure residents receive care from familiar faces who know them personally and treat them like family. With a full-time medical director, a dedicated cardiac medical director, excellent clinical team, and a top-tier rehabilitation team working in our state-of-the-art therapy spaces, we’re proud to deliver a level of expertise that truly sets us apart.”

Heritage Manor, a Christian Health community, provides long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, and hospice services in a warm, supportive environment. The community offers 134 private and semi-private rooms, 24-hour nursing, and an experienced interdisciplinary team that includes an in-house medical director, physiatrist, and nurse practitioner. Residents benefit from personalized care plans, on-site rehabilitation therapies, specialized cardiac services, and a wide range of activities that foster social connection, emotional well-being, and quality of life. Heritage Manor is Medicare- and Medicaid-certified, dedicated to delivering compassionate, clinically excellent care for older adults who require ongoing support.

Bolger Short-Term Rehabilitation is a post-acute unit (PACU) located on Christian Health’s 78-acre campus in Wyckoff, N.J. It provides comprehensive short-term inpatient rehabilitation, including respiratory, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, for individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. The community boasts a 14,000-square-foot gym equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
