What Is Southgate?
Southgate is a special care nursing facility (SCNF) serving adults with severe behavioral disturbances and other complex care needs related to dementia and other mental illnesses. Our multidisciplinary team provides individualized, person- and family-centered treatment that helps alleviate symptoms and improve quality of life. All team members receive specialized training in providing considerate, gentle care to all residents and are certified in de-escalation techniques to resolve conflict. It is one of only a few communities in New Jersey licensed to care for this population and the only one in Bergen County.
